What we do
Pharmacy Webmart is a carbon neutral business. All the carbon we produce as a company is offset by the thousands of native trees we plant in New Zealand every year. We have been planting on the Huriawa Peninsula in Otago for the past decade and have just started planting on Motutapu Island on the Hauraki Gulf, with more than 20,000 trees already planted.
Pharmacy Webmart is committed to a sustainable future and our tree planting allows us to support this. Our programmes has been gratefully embraced by our local community and iwi (local Maori tribes) in both the north and south islands.
Here is what the local Ngai Tahu Runaka or Tribal Council had to say about our planting programme:
"As stewards of Huriawa Peninsula, Kati Huirapa Runaka warmly welcomes the contribution of Pharmacy Webmart to the biodiversity of this fragile environment. The planting of local indigenous plant species to Huriawa stabilizes erosion and helps to restore the natural habitat of a number of key bird and insect species that have declined through past farming practices. It also enhances the experience of the many visitors who come to this special place. Thanks, Mark and Emma."
- Brendan Flack. Environment Officer at Kati Huirapa, Ngai Tahu, Aotearoa, New Zealand

"Every year when we visit our family holiday home in Karitane we are able to see how much the plants we provided have grown over the years. Whole areas that were once barren ex-farmland are now thriving with native plants and the birdlife they attract. We are happy that our boys and their children will benefit from the hard work of those with the vision to restore this area to its former glory. It is also important for Mark and I to be giving back to nature and to our future generations."

When you buy from us, you are making the planet a better place.
- Emma and Mark, Directors. Pharmacy Webmart.
Green Giving
While donating native trees every year to the Hauraki Gulf, this year we decided to look at the Motatupu Island, where the Motatupu Restoration Trust is doing their best to revive the island by planting trees with the help of volunteers from the past 25 years. We at Pharmacy Webmart wanted to add our contribution to this amazing project and donated 1000 trees to the trust. Their regeneration process is resulting in native species spreading across the Home Bay Forest with the help of birds. '

This year we took the whole Pharmacy Webmart team on the ferry to the stunning Motutapu Island where we propagated plants and explored the island. It was great to get a hands-on experience of tree planting and hear about the benefits to the environment of programmes such as this one. We donated 1000 trees to help in the regeneration of this beautiful Island.
